The Package
Artist Promotion Packages can start as simply as a single cover recording of a well known song accompanied by a simple biography and professional photograph.
From there, the sky is the limit, but a favourite package which is economical but effective consists of:

• 2 songs – original or covers, or one of each
• Set of 2 – 3 photos
• Artist/band ‘bio’

The cost of our packages obviously depends on what is to be included, but a ‘basic’ kit starts from as little as AUS $550 ready to go. This would include 10 copies of the package ready for distribution.

The most effective package is not usually the cheapest, but it’s not necessarily the most expensive either. Recording original material generally costs more than ‘covers’, simply because of the extra time involved. For example, recording an original track by a 10 piece band backed by a 50 piece orchestra and a gospel choir from New Orleans obviously smacks the till a bit harder than recording a cover of a well known song sung to a midifile backing track!

Whilst key ingredients such as talent, determination and a great image, are all essential to success, (along with a heaped teaspoonful of good luck and timing!) they amount to very little if they’re not spearheaded by a combination of good recordings, a refined and professional approach to publicity and presentation, and the resulting product targeted at the right people in the industry.

Most other methods rely far too much on simple hope — against odds of ‘lotto’ proportions — and are generally a waste of the significant amounts of money often spent on the various processes involved.
